Dr. Carmen Hutchinson Miller’s Story

My name is Dr. Carmen Hutchinson Miller I am a certified Sisterlocks™ Consultant with a PhD in History.

I am from Port Limon, Costa Rica. I am an educator, historian, and researcher. I am also the author of two publications, both of which focus on the Afro-Costa Rican population. I love my culture and ethnicity. For that reason, I embraced Sisterlocks™ because it brings out our natural beauty for all people of African descent. The Sisterlocks™ hairstyle is for both males and females.

I am honored to be the first Sisterlocks™ Consultant in Costa Rica and the pioneer who introduced Sisterlocks™ to Costa Rican men and women in 2014. Practicing this craft in Costa Rica brings me great pride, especially in empowering Afro-Costa Ricans to embrace their natural hair and beauty.
